What is Mucosamin® used for?

Muscosamin® Oral Spray and Mucosamin® Mouthwash treat dry mouth, oral mucositis induced by cancer treatment; chemotherapy, radiotherapy or both, oral lesions and inflammation of the mouth following surgical operations on the tongue and burning mouth syndrome.

Mucosamin® Rectal Gel treats and relieves the symptoms of actinic proctitis, caused by radiation treatment in the pelvic region; and proctitis caused by chemotherapy. Mucosamin® Vaginal Cream treats and relieves the symptoms of actinic vulvovaginitis caused by radiation treatment in the pelvic region and vulvovaginitis caused by chemotherapy. By forming a soothing, protective layer over the mucosa, Mucosamin® helps relieve symptoms of neurological injury caused by proctitis or vulvovaginitis and aids the healing process.

Who can use Mucosamin®?

Patients who are experiencing side effects from cancer treatment from chemotherapy or radiation. The mouthwash and the spray can also be used for patients following oral surgery or suffering from dry mouth.

Can Mucosamin® be used by children?

Yes, it is safe to use with children. Mucosamin® Oral Spray can be used at any age. For Mucosamin® Mouthwash, we suggest to start using it when the child is able to swallow – 6 years onwards.

What does Mucosamin® contain?

Sodium hyaluronate and synthetic amino acids -glycine, L-Proline, L-Leucine, L-Lysine HCL – these amino acids assist in the process of wound repair, act as an antioxidant – protects tissues from damage caused by reactive oxygen species. Supports wound healing.1,2

How and how often should I use Mucosamin®?

Mucosamin® mouthwash and Mucosamin® spray can be used 3 to 4 times a day. Mucosamin® rectal gel and vaginal cream can be used once or several times a day depending on the extent of the symptoms.

When should I start using Mucosamin®?

Muscosamin® can be used Pre-Treatment to help protect, during treatment for pain relief and post treatment for wound healing

Are there any side effects?

No reports of side effects or interactions with drugs or medicinal substances. No known secondary effects during pregnancy and breastfeeding; use at physician’s discretion. Do not use in the event of known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.
